About FantasyBookShelf.com
What is the purpose of the site?
With so many books and movies released each year, I wanted a way to organize and keep track of what I read and watch. Many of these initial reviews were first published on DeliriumsRealm.com, but I've been trying to consolidate and re-categorize that site's content. Since, I already have an anime/gaming review site at Animetique.com, starting one for fantasy/scifi books and movies didn't seem like a big jump.
Who pays for the site?
Right now, FantasyBookShelf.com survives from revenue generated by affiliate programs (primarily Amazon.com) and Google ads. If something I write about sparks your interest, please consider making your purchases through one of my affiliate links. Every little bit is greatly appreciated.
If you find the information on this site valuable and would like to leave a donation for FantasyBookShelf.com, please consider making a donation through PayPal.
Thank you for your support and encouragement!
How are the books selected?
Generally, the books on the top of my "to read" pile get priority, though if something new is published by one of my favorite authors, that gets shoved to the top.
What do your ratings mean?
I rate books and movies on a five star system. While I try to be fair, often I tend not to give out less than 3 stars, mainly because if I don't enjoy it, why write the review? Yes, there are acceptations to this.
= A = Virtually perfect. Highly Recommended.
= A-/B+ = Excellent. With some minor flaws.
= B = Very good. Enjoyable.
= B-/C+ = Good. Still enjoyable but with some annoyances.
= C = Average. Ok way to pass the time but nothing special.
= C-/D+ = Just below average.
= D = Bad. Boring and/or doesn't make sense.
= D- = Horrible. Not recommended.
= F = I couldn't finish it.
Do you give spoilers in your reviews?
Sometimes. It depends whether I want to discuss specifics in the book - philosophical content, odd plot choices, mythologies, etc. I start off all reviews without spoilers and if I choose to include them, I will preface the section with a bolded Spoiler Alert or similar.

Do you accept book submissions for review?
Right now, I have way too many books to read so I'm not accepting reviews.
How does the site choose links to other sites?
I only choose links that are relevant to what I write about. Often these will be links to the author's website or other reviewers and only to other sites that I respect or that contain relevant information.
